Super Bulldog Weekend 2012!

We had a great Super Bulldog Weekend and really enjoyed hanging out with our friends that came in town!  What better way to wrap up SBW 2012 than having another photo session with the fabulous Jana Berkery @ Davis Wade Stadium!
We had so much fun taking these (besides the nasty, powerful wind that kept messing my hair up)!  I highly recommend Jana...she is so good at what she does and we have just loved her!  You can see more of our pictures on her facebook page: www.facebook.com/janabphotography
or check out her blog:  Jana B. Photography

Saturday, I was able to mark another important item off of our wedding to-do list
(probably one of the most important items) - the FLORIST!
Mom and I met with Haze at The Flower Co. and talked about our ideas & what we wanted.  He is such an awesome florist and I completely trust him.  The only other person I would trust more is my Matron of Honor Katie!  She is so talented, but she's going to be by my side helping me on this big day.  Katie will be playing a major role in the flowers because she is making my bouquet!  I always wanted Katie to have a part in the flower decor of my wedding, and I am so honored and blessed to have one of my very best friends make my wedding bouquet.

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend!  Before I go, I want to share a blog with you that I often read.  I do not personally know this couple, but they live in Starkville & are currently in the adoption process.  I have been so touched by their story (yall know how much I love kids) and I encourage you to read their blog and learn about their journey.

91 Miles

Yesterday, Trey & I drove 91 beautiful miles to Livingston, Alabama.

UWA had their spring game that morning and then we drove around town and looked at different places that we might be able to live.
Livingston is a beautiful little town.  I wasn't sure what to expect while we were driving there.  I knew it would be small, but I very impressed with the size of the UWA campus & how beautiful the downtown area is!  They have cute little streets, with ferns and flowers.  I saw what looked to be a drug store/gift shop called The Drug Store.  Hence, why I think it's a drug store.  Haha  :)  But they had a Vera Bradley sign in the window, so I figure if I ever need a gift or "happy" for someone, I have a place to shop at.  Other than that, the only shopping in Livingston is Dollar General, Fred's, and Ramey's (the local grocery store).  I've never lived in a town where there is no Walmart & honestly I am kinda excited about it (and so is my check book).  We drove down one of the streets downtown and discovered this treasure:
The cutest little movie theater.  One screen...shows at 7:00 every night.
There is no red box, so this is our only "movie date" option in Livingston.
I'm sure we will drive to surrounding towns to do stuff, but I kinda fell a little bit in love with this small Alabama town.  I will try to take more pictures next time.
And hopefully we will be closer to having a place to call home on our next visit.

*P.S.- I think I have fixed the commenting problem.  I had several people say they couldn't comment.  I opened up the comments to allow anyone..so make sure you put your name on there somewhere so I will know who it is from.  (If you have a google user ID it will use your ID)

Thank you for reading about all the happenings in our life... I will be back in a few days...we are having another photo session with www.janabphotography.blogspot.com on Tuesday!

one hundred days

I still can't believe I am marrying my best friend in 100 days!  All of this seems so unreal.
I look at my finger throughout the day and just smile.
I try not to get overwhelmed when I open my planner.
I answer my mother's text messages and thank God we live in the same town and that she takes care of what I forget to take care of.
I make calls.
I answer emails.
I take naps.
I go for long walks outside.

And then I look at my to-do list and realize we have a lot to do in the next 100 days!!

Like.....
Find cute outfits for all of the showers that have been planned for us by our sweet family & friends.
Find somewhere to live in Livingston, Alabama (any suggestions?).
Find a job in the Meridian area.
Book a mini-honeymoon.
Find a florist & cake maker.
Attend pre-marriage counseling sessions.

You get the picture (and probably don't care).  Haha!  :)

I may not have mentioned this before on my blog, but I am not sure what I am going to do when I have to pack up my classroom in West Point.  I LOVE my job.  I am so blessed to work with WONDERFUL, supportive women (& Coach Welch).  I am very nervous about changing jobs and going through the interview process.  I'm pretty sure I will cry at my West Point School District Shower at the end of this month.  For those who do not know "Our Sweet Southern Story", East Side Elementary in West Point would be the setting of Chapter 1.  Trey & I met there in the spring of 2010.  We started dating that summer & the rest of the story continues in 100 days.  I am very sad about leaving my West Point family and hope that whoever takes my classroom will cherish and love them just as I do.

We can do this!

We have been super busy over the past week planning this wedding!  Some days I am overwhelmed and wonder if we can pull this thing off??  Today, while at my parent's house, I was quite confident we can do this!  My momma is SUPER creative and everything I know, I learned from her.  Well, we've been playing around and the picture above is a small snippet of what we've been tinkering with...and I LOVE IT!  My wedding will be simple and elegant.  I have no desire to spend $8 million dollars on things that my family and Trey's family can do ourselves.  Plus, it makes it more intimate and personal when the items used in the decor belong to the bride and groom's family....which is what I want most of all.  Two families are joining on July 21st and I want everything about the wedding to evolve around our families.  :)  I don't want to spill the beans about all the decor and ideas we have planned, but it will be a fun, family affair and we are so excited.

I have to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to all of my bridesmaids.  I picked out a dress for them last Saturday.  Everyone had to be sized and have their dress ordered by this past Friday.  Yes, they had to all get fitted and order their dress in only 6 days.  And they did!  I have the greatest friends and family in the world.  Trey & I are truly blessed to have such sweet and supportive people in our lives.  I have been contacted by many different family friends about hosting showers for us.  Some have offered to help the day of the wedding with decorating & making sure everything runs smoothly.  WE ARE BLESSED.  And we would love nothing more than to have all of these people surrounding us on our special day!

Sometimes I can't believe we've accomplished everything that we have in just 3 weeks.  Some days, I feel like we've been engaged for 3 months....but I am so glad everything is running smoothly (so far).  I just hope the next 104 days go as good as the last 3 weeks have.  Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.  Thanks for reading my blog too!  I often wonder who all reads all this mess I type, so leave a little comment if you'd like!  :)

Happy Easter!
