Back to School

Well school is back in full swing & I am teaching Kindergarten again!  I am still at Thomas Street in Tupelo & I have 19 sweet students. Here are some pictures of my room. Just thought I'd share so those who are interested can see my sweet "home away from home".

My hallway bulletin board:

Sweet treats for the first day:

My room:

Curtains made my super talented Momma!

I have lamps in several areas of my room. It creates a cozy environment & the kids love it!  The framed print on the small black table says "Be Yourself, everyone else is already taken".

Cute pencil cups!

Our Reading Center:

My small little corner area:

Calendar/leader/specials board.  Still working on our schedule that's why there's only 2 items listed!  We do way more that arrive & do calendar! Haha.

Another view of our room. I am blessed with wonderful cabinet space!

Cute teal cubbies with owl labels.

Painting a canvas for a class-made mural. (Final project pics to come)

EVERYDAY starts by watching & singing "What I Am..." By Will.I.Am & the Sesame Street characters.
It is an awesome song & the kids love it!  Go to YouTube and look it up!

Students took their picture with our "first day frame".

I am really blessed to have these 19 little people for the next 175 school days. I am honored to be their teacher & I am excited to share our adventures with you!  Please pray for our class and for my patience...I am by myself with these sweet things & some days it is hard...I'm just being real!

Yesterday, BHS had their first practice in full gear!  Kickoff is in 2 weeks.  We play at Walnut on August 23rd!  I hope that the Blue Devil fans will pack the stands at Walnut & cheer our guys on with me!  Good luck this year Blue Devils & especially to my Coach!

I am really gonna try to be a better blogger!  I was in full relaxation mode this summer & we traveled a lot - therefore I never blogged!!  Hope you have a blessed Sunday evening and a wonderful week!  -Leslie

Sweet Spring

Spring is here & the weather has been so nice lately! Perfect weather for watching my sweet niece play coach pitch! She did so good and really hustles to help her team! Trey and the BHS blue devils started spring football Monday! He had 29 linemen, aka "the big dogs", working hard out there on the field! I can't believe May is here and we only have 3 weeks of school left. Please pray for me & my students as we tackle our common assessments next week!!

My life according to an iPhone

We've been pretty busy lately.
Here are a few pictures from my cell phone to show you what the Ward's have been up to lately!

Our story of the week was about baseball, so I pulled up some Mississippi State baseball highlights for them to watch!  They absolutely loved it!

My wild Tiger Trotters!
They had 20 minutes to see how many laps they could complete.

One of my sweet girls cheering another classmate on to the finish line!

Every 2nd grader in the Tupelo School District attends Swim Safe class at the city pool!
Here they are on the first day...some were so excited, some were crying and screaming 10 minutes after this pic was taken.
(which is when the "Mrs. Ward I want you to show me" cries started.  which is when Mrs. Ward stops by Walmart to get a cheap one piece.  which is followed by screaming crying kids in the pool & a wet teacher with messed up makeup the next day!  the things we do for our sweet students!)

The deep end crew!  These little fish had such a good time!

We've also been SUPER busy with baseball....which is fine with me because it's relaxing to me!

My coach in his usual spot with his usual pose.

Coach and the seniors - Hunter, Kurt, Daniel, and Storm.
Congrats and best wishes to these young men!

Coach and I after Senior Night.  Can't believe our first football and baseball season is in the books.  I think we did pretty good for a bunch of "rookies"!  Spring football starts Monday.  We are excited about next year's football season already!

Home Sweet Home

I drove home to Starkville two weekends ago to visit with my parents AND my brother. It was the weekend before his wedding and the four of us rarely get to see each other and spend time together like we did back years ago (when me & my brother lived at home), so I decided to make a visit. I was also invited to a sip-and-see for new baby Sam Shafer and my bestie Amanda was flying in from NYC so yall know i had to make an appearance at the Shafer home Saturday afternoon. I had every intention of posting about my trip last Sunday - but as we see, that didn't happen. It was a wonderful weekend full of family and friends. I hated Trey couldn't go with me but he had 3 baseball games Saturday afternoon and had to stay here and coach.

Friday night mom, dad, Nick & I just sat around the living room talking and playing with the dogs. Stella was really sweet and cuddled up to me while Lilly was glued to my mom's lap (my mom spoils her SO bad).

Saturday, mom & I went and did a little shopping around town. I found a cute dress to wear to Nick & Ana's rehearsal dinner at Deep South Pout. Y'all I promise I could buy everything in that store. We also went to a few of my other favorite stores/boutiques. I got baby Sam a little "happy" to take to the sip-and-see....a super cute "Wubba Nub". A little stuffed animal attached to a passy!

On my "weekend in Starkville to do list" was to make a trip to The Rubba Boot. I have been craving crawfish, and there is nowhere around here to get any good ones, so my mission for crawfish was a serious one! For those that don't know, The Rubba Boot is a new restaurant in Starkville specializing in boiled crawfish. The owner went to school with both Nick and me at SHS & his wife is from Louisiana.....their crawfish is fresh, huge, and SO YUMMY! It was the best I've had in Starkville. The little restaurant is so stinking cute. (See pics below).

Saturday afternoon/evening I went to the Shafer's to meet Sam Shafer! He is so sweet and his big sister Sydney is the most precious girl. Amanda flew in from the big apple and I always go see her when she's in Mississippi. We had a great visit, full of laughs and lots of pics of baby Sam. If you are friends with her on Facebook, she has some really good pics of the event.

Here are pics from my weekend in Stark!
