"Who is your flower girl?"

I am taking a break from "planning" tonight and doing absolutely nothing except watching TV!  I know it has only been a few days and some of you may be saying, "Taking a break from what?  You just got engaged."

Yesterday, I booked the church, and both the rehearsal dinner & reception venues!  I met with the nicest lady, Ann, and discussed invitations & other "paper" products (as I call them).  I talked with my photographer & made plans with her to take engagement pictures sometime in the next 2 weeks.  I also got our "getaway" car reserved.  I'm pretty pumped.  It's only a few items on my SUPER-DE-DOOPER to-do list, but they are huge items!  Needless to say - I AM WORN OUT....but it's a good worn out.

The title of this post makes me smile so big because it's the main question I have been asked by the little girls in my class.  It made me so happy when I was greeted with "Ms. Brett, are you getting married?" by one of my students first thing Monday morning.  I expected an "I missed you" or "I went to Chuck-E-Cheese over spring break!" from my students first thing Monday, but boy was I wrong.  And if you think 4 year olds do not know what Facebook is, you are wrong.  :)
SO, I answered yes, I was getting married.  The next question was, "Who is your flower girl?"  I told them it was Trey's nieces and one girl said "oh" & the other said "I want to be the flower girl".  Which sparked a random variety of little girls yelling out:  "I was a flower girl one time and I got to walk with a boy", "I wore a pretty dress to a wedding one time", "I love flowers, roses are red", "my aunt is married", etc.  (you get the picture)  So I apologized to my 8 little girls in class and told them that I wish they could all be my flower girls, but I already have 2 and explained that 2 was plenty.
Sorry to ramble on about my class, but I never thought they would be so interested in my wedding and WHO I was going to marry!  I have very smart children and they love to ask questions, so I let them, and we all learn together.  I was asked "Who are you gonna marry?"  So I said "Trey".  She said "oh, okay.  Yall are gonna kiss!"  (followed by giggles of course)  It's so funny what small children associate with the thought of marriage.  And I love that they care about me and want to know when I am getting married, where it will be, and who my flower girls are!

I am truly blessed to be marrying Trey.  His family has always been nothing short of loving to me and my family loves Trey like he is their own.  I am also overwhelmed and very thankful by all of the sweet calls, texts, tweets, and facebook comments that Trey and I have received!  We have awesome friends and family & we can not wait until July 21st when we all come together and celebrate this special time in our lives!
