Nine Weeks!
So...I got a text from my momma today that said
"9 weeks until the BIG DAY!!!! Oh my!!!" :)
"9 weeks until the BIG DAY!!!! Oh my!!!" :)
And then I got to thinking..... oh. my. goodness.
I am getting married in 9 weeks and I still have TONS to get done!
Everything will fall into place and I am very excited. Trey and I are very excited and we are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends! Some of my dads family hosted a bridal shower for Trey and I yesterday and it was so pretty! Some of my grandmother's very best friends were there, as well as lots of family and friends. For those who do not know, my dad is from Kosciusko - born and raised. And my 83 year old grandmother still lives there. When we were driving home, my mom said "you know, I was just thinking about the shower. A lot of the women who were there this afternoon, are the same women who hosted showers for your dad and I when we were engaged."
How special.
If you don't know by now, my family is a huge part of my life!
And both my family and Trey's family are going to be a big part of our wedding day.
Here are a few pictures I snapped...

The last picture is of momma, me and granny holding my wedding quilt.
My granny made this quilt in 1995 with plans to give it to me when I got married....and now that time has come! I have known about it, but I had never seen it until the shower Sunday. It is absolutely beautiful! I like to call it the "love bird" quilt, because it has pretty little birds all over it....and pink hearts! It is gorgeous and Trey and I will treasure it forever!

In other news, I said goodbye to all of my kids today! I cannot believe that I just finished my 5th year of teaching. I am so proud of my students and how much they accomplished this year! I told them that I would be back to West Point to check on them and make sure they are acting right in Kindergarten...and their eyes got HUGE!! They know I will pop in at any time and make sure they are on their best behavior! :) Now I only have 2 more days and I am no longer a West Point School District employee. I always knew this day would come, but I didn't think it would be this soon. And I didn't think it would be this hard. I mean it when I say this - I work with THE BEST people on earth. Everyone helps everyone and it's like we are a big family. I will probably have to come and check on them too and make sure they are on their "best behavior" also!!!
(you know how us teachers are!)
Please keep Trey and I in your prayers. We have a lot going on. We both have grandmothers who are ill and need prayers for good health.
We are still looking for our first home.
We are extremely blessed and know that everything will work out in His timing. We just need to slow down and enjoy these last 9 weeks before we are husband and wife.
Have a blessed week!

another monday in the books
I had a great weekend relaxing with Trey and visiting with family. Saturday, we went to Winona to visit with my momma's side of the family. Almost everyone was there, and we had fun laughing, playing checkers, and talking about the upcoming wedding in July (of course). Sunday was low key...Trey went back to Booneville to be with his mom and I went to my parent's house to eat dinner with my mom. Although I didn't get to see Mrs. Paula, I sent her gift with Trey. I usually try to give meaningful gifts to family and friends....which usually means that no two are alike. Well, for Mother's Day I got mom and Mrs. Paula the same thing! It was just a framed picture of Trey and I, but it's one of my favorites and they both loved it very much.

Wednesday Wedding Update
I have been super busy lately with wedding planning and school! This past weekend I was able to go to Orange Beach for Kristen's bachelorette weekend! Here is a little collage with a few pictures from our trip. We had so much fun and it was good to get away and relax for a few days.
Last night, me and momma got back to wedding planning! I talked to the cake decorator and booked her to make our cakes! To say I am pumped would be an understatement!! This is the last HUGE item on the to-do list and I'm relieved to have it checked off!
I always thought that when I got married I would consider having my momma's wedding dress altered and wear it on my wedding day. Well, this was just not going to be possible since I only have 4 months to plan our big day. Thanks to Pinterest (and maybe a little of my imagination), I have come up with a way to incorporate my mother's gown/veil into my special day. So last night we dug her gown out of the closet. This was the first time I had ever seen it in person....and it is beautiful. I have no idea how she wore the long sleeves and turtleneck in a June wedding, but she did. The details are amazing and I loved getting to hold her dress and try on her veil.

She had it preserved, and we opened the box and it looked SO pretty just laying there.

Momma's veil and a few applique pieces that were on the train of the dress.

Pearls and lace. So traditional and gorgeous. LOVE the details!
I am so excited to add another family heirloom to the wedding. I will post pictures of the creation sometime before the wedding, but I'm just gonna keep it a secret for now. ;)
Now I'm off to pick out music for the wedding and reception!
Happy Hump Day!

As you can see, we have been very busy!
We had a fabulous shower Saturday with some of the BEST friends anyone could ask for! I would like to thank Blake and Lara Beth for everything. It was so beautiful and perfect.
Monday afternoon, East Side Elementary & Pre-K gave us a shower.
I love these women so much and am dreading leaving in just a few short weeks. Trey and I had fun being back together at the place where we met two years ago. It was the first time in two years that we had both been there at the same time. All the ladies were thrilled to see him again. They absolutely LOVE Trey...and are so happy for the two of us.
I'm sure yall are wondering about my title "You found each other?"
Last week I was talking to one of my students about the pictures Trey and I took Super Bulldog Weekend at the football stadium. I showed him a few of the ones we took. He is a huge Mississippi State fan and thought it was so cool that we took pictures there.
Another student sitting beside him said "Who is that?"
I said, "That is Trey."
Him: "Is he your booooyfriend?"
Me: "Yes. He's the guy I am marrying."
Him: "You found each other?"
Me: (smiling/giggling) "Yes, we found each other."
Him: "Oh...(long pause)..where?"
Me: "I found him at school!"
Him: "Really??"
It was precious. And inoccent.
I just love that my four and five year old babies at school are interested in my life,
just as much as I am interested in theirs.
